Upgrade to 802.11n -
OK, it's not a free solution, but it's the best one there is. The new 802.11n gear (even though it has yet to be finalized by the standards body in charge of it) has dramatically better range, speed, and stability than 802.11b or g: After simply upgrading your router to an 802.11n model, you will likely find that your signal is stronger and more reliable in every room, plus you'll experience faster throughput all around (especially if your laptop has 802.11n technology in it). I've also found that 802.11n routers crash less frequently, another big bonus. A new 802.11n router will set you back from $60 to $180.
Try a Range Extender or Repeater -
You'll find lots of hardware like this on the market. Some of it works well, some doesn't. In general, I've had the best luck with extenders when they are made by the same company who made your router. Some vendors also offer "high-gain" antennas as a replacement for the little ones on your router. They're worth a try.
Change Channels -
For this tweak you'll need to get into your router's management screen, either through an installed application or by typing the IP address of the router into a web browser. You'll find a "Wireless Channel" (or similar) setting in the wireless configuration portion of your router. Most routers default to channel 1, 6, or 11, but if your neighbors are all on channel 6, then you might be seeing slow speed and lower range due to interference. Try one of the other channels (start with 1, 6, and 11, but other channel numbers are worth a shot, too), to see if you get a better signal with them. Remember that your neighbors may also replace their equipment at some point, so if you see a sudden drop in range or speed, try a new channel.

Speed up Firefox. If you have a broadband connection (and most of us do), you can use pipelining to speed up your page loads. This allows Firefox to load multiple things on a page at once, instead of one at a time (by default, it's optimized for dialup connections). Here's how.
- Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Type "network.http" in the filter field, and change the following settings (double-click on them to change them):
- Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
- Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
- Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to a number like 30. This will allow it to make 30 requests at once.
Also, right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0″. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
When you enter the Mebeam site (www.Mebeam.com) for the first time a window named "Adobe Flash Player Settings" will appear.

2. Click on the microphone icon and make sure the volume bar is half way only and the reduce echo is checked off.
3. Click on the cam icon and in the scroll down menu pick out the camera you wish to use on Mebeam.
4. Exit the Adobe Menu and on your own camera picture in the Mebeam room hit the silence button located on the
top right hand corner to mute all other videos
*NOTE*
If you do not see the Adobe Flash Player Settings Menu come up you can access it from your video picture.
There will be a settings button on the bottom right corver of your own video

How To Limit Ram Usage In Firefox Mozilla
Limit RAM usage.
If Firefox takes up too much memory on your computer, you can limit the amount of RAM it is allowed to us. Again, go to about:config, filter "browser.cache" and select "browser.cache.disk.capacity". It's set to 50000, but you can lower it, depending on how much memory you have. Try 15000 if you have between 512MB and 1GB ram.
Reduce RAM usage further for when Firefox is minimized.
This setting will move Firefox to your hard drive when you minimize it, taking up much less memory. And there is no noticeable difference in speed when you restore Firefox, so it's definitely worth a go. Again, go to about:config, right-click anywhere and select New-> Boolean. Name it "config.trim_on_minimize" and set it to TRUE. You have to restart Firefox for these settings to take effect.
